Hiring Glassware From Us
The first port of call is to email or phone me from the contact list with a date. If the glass is not being hired for other events and is available I will send you a short questionnaire that deals with issues such as whether you can be bothered to wash the glass. Whether you need it delivering along with how many people and what kind of event it is and the colours you would like.
By looking at the website you can fill in your choices of glassware that you want and fill that in also on the questionnaire.
A deposit of 25% will then need to be paid to reserve them for that particular date as soon as possible for without the deposit there will be no reservation. This is refundable if the event is cancelled but only if I have 2 weeks notice.
One week before the event, the full hire fee must be paid alongside a retainer of 35% The 35% retainer is in case glasses are broken this is completely refundable if no glasses are damaged.
Broken Glass policy
It is understandable that glass can break and that it might at your event. I don’t want anyone to worry unnecessarily about this and therefore allow for 1 glass out of 50 to be broken without you incurring any fee. However the glass must be put in a box that I have provided for this purpose. I need proof that it has been broken, some of the glass is valuable and most is rare. If the limit is exceeded (1 out of 50) then each glass will be charged at 5 x the hire fee. If the glass is simply missing and no proof of damage is given then 10 x the hire fee for each glass will be taken from your retainer. I also will provide a certain amount of plastic glasses at a minimal cost so that they can be swapped out as more alcohol has been imbibed which should reduce the risk of breakage.
It is important to pack the glass away carefully.
If the glass is packed away by yourself and you do so carelessly without the bubble wrap or protection provided and it arrives broken then I will send pictures of the state it has arrived in before I take it out of your retainer.
Washing Glasses
NONE of the glass can go in a dishwasher. It is obvious when some one has done this as it DAMAGES ALL OF THE GLASS leaving clear signs that this has been done. A fee will be incurred the same as broken glass if the glass has been put in a dishwasher. Don’t do it, respect the glass is rare and beautiful.
If you have decided to save costs and do it yourselves, please be aware that it must be hand washed in warm soapy water and then rinsed and dried before packing.
As glass can be damaged during this process it is important to choose the right person for the job, who will wash it thoroughly. If you choose to wash it I will provide T towels and brushes that will reach to the bottom of champagne flutes.
The glass will be checked on arrival and if it needs further washing a charge will be incurred which will be taken out of your retainer.
If you decide that you would rather not wash it and pack it away dirty then make sure that all of the liquid is removed as this will damage the packaging.
A charge of 20p per glass will be added to the overall price if you decide to not wash it.
Delivery
We will deliver up to 3 hours of driving distance. This will be charged at £25 per hour plus petrol.
The driver will arrive with the suitcases of glass and deliver only to the person designated for the task of receiving them. Please make sure that this person is available to save wasting time.
If you choose to collect the glass yourself there is no charge for this, we are based in Torquay Devon. Please be aware that 1 large suitcase will contain only 30 glasses, depending how much you order it is wise to be mindful that you have enough room in your vehicle.
Setting Up
If you are short of time and require help, we can give it. It will be a further charge of £10 per 20 glasses to unpack and lay out on the tables. It is always useful to have the tables labelled with the colours you want to avoid any confusion. If you want the driver to wait until your event is over to pack them up, their time will be charged at £20 per hour from there on in. If you need help setting up the t lights and vases or anything else we are able to offer assistance to ensure your event runs smoothly if you should so need it..
How long do I have the glassware for?
48 HOURS OR 2 DAYS.
A charge of 75% of the hire cost will be incurred with each day that your event goes over the agreed time.
You may need the glasses for longer than 2 days, but this must be agreed before hand. A charge of 40% of the original hire cost per day after the 48 hours will be added to your bill.
Please be aware that other people will have ordered the glass, and by keeping it over time, this could compromise their original order for their event. Be mindful of others. This is why the penalty is in place.
